Kenya’s former Justice Minister and Dr. Kizza Besigye’s legal team leader, Martha Karua, has called on Ugandan authorities to honor the recent High Court ruling on civilian trials. Speaking at a press conference, Karua stated, “The High Court’s decision was welcomed by Ugandans and the world, but it will be unfortunate if it is ignored. Dr. Kizza Besigye and Hajj Obeid Lutale are still being held illegally. We urge authorities not to tarnish Uganda’s reputation because the world is watching.”
