As the Uganda Police Force commenced its 2025 recruitment of Probationary Police Constables nationwide, the West Nile region has demonstrated significant engagement, with a substantial turnout of shortlisted candidates.

Prospective candidates expressed strong interest by submitting numerous applications in response to the Uganda Police Force’s recruitment advertisements for this year.

In the West Nile region, the recruitment process began yesterday in Nebbi District. Today, the recruitment team is conducting interviews at Paidha Secondary School in Paidha Town Council, Zombo District, and will proceed to Madi-Okollo, Maracha, and other districts.

West Nile Public Relations Officer, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Collins Asea, stated in an interview this morning that interviews for Madi-Okollo District are scheduled for tomorrow, followed by Maracha District on Wednesday, covering the region’s 12 districts and Arua City.

SSP Asea reported that in Nebbi District, 129 candidates, including 34 females, were successfully interviewed out of 134 shortlisted. In Zombo District, 85 candidates, including 21 females, participated.

He issued a stern warning against fraudulent activities, emphasizing that individuals with forged academic documents or corrupt intentions will face arrest if detected.

“The recruitment process is progressing smoothly. We commend the communities of Zombo and Nebbi for encouraging their daughters and sisters to join the force. We urge parents to prioritize education for their children,” SSP Asea stated.

The Resident District Commissioner for Zombo, Festus Ayikubua, described the recruitment as a significant opportunity, noting that at least 85 candidates from Zombo will join the national police force.

Ayikobua expressed confidence in the candidates’ ability to pass the aptitude tests, citing their recent academic backgrounds.

He advised candidates to avoid behaviors that could lead to health risks, such as sexually transmitted diseases or pregnancy, as medical examinations will be conducted prior to training.

“This recruitment represents equitable access to national opportunities. Zombo’s share of this ‘national cake’ ensures that supporters of the government can serve at a national level,” Ayikubua remarked.

The selection process includes mandatory assessments: a physical fitness test, aptitude test, oral interview, and medical examination, Candidate Requirements, Original National Identity Card, Original Academic Documents.

Interviews are being conducted at designated recruitment centers on dates specified by the Uganda Police Force and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

All shortlisted applicants must report to their respective recruitment centers by 08:00 AM local time.
