The Adjumani Central Police Station has received a significant upgrade with the transfer of a newly constructed facility, valued at UGX 400 million, to station leadership on August 28, 2025.

Located at Karoko Cell, Biyaya Ward, Adjumani Town Council, the facility was constructed by Muganywa Construction Limited under the Justice, Law and Order Sector (JLOS) initiative.

The structure was formally handed over to JLOS authorities and Adjumani Police personnel by Engineer Mugunwa, the project contractor on August 28, 2025.

The transfer ceremony was attended by key officials, including Chief Judge Ojok Tony O., First Degree Judge HP Okot Michael, Deputy Public Prosecutor Angumale Simon, North West Nile Regional Police Commander SSP Joseph Mwesige, Adjumani Station Commander SP Herbert Masembe, Director of Public Administration Mesiku Harriet, Judicial Engineer Serukwaya Solomon, Technical Supervisor Ojok Tony, Legal Aid Clinic representative Walea Sophie, and Adjumani Police Station management.

According to North West Nile Regional Police Spokesperson SP Collins Asea, the facility is pending final commissioning by Police Headquarters and is undergoing minor finishing work, including lighting installation in juvenile cells and other enhancements.

SP Asea reported that SSP Mwesige praised JLOS for their dedication to improving community justice, highlighting the station’s modern features, including dedicated cells for juvenile and female detainees, as well as self-contained sanitation facilities.

Asea emphasized that this development represents a significant step forward in strengthening law enforcement infrastructure and enhancing service delivery in the North West Nile Region
