Tributes continue to pour in as former Uganda National Examination Board [UNEB] official Stephen Ocamringa died at 66, in Nakasero hospital in Kampala early this week.

Ocamringa retired from active service with UNEB in 2019, according to his brother, Kwokende Isaak Ulum.

Ulum, the deceased brother, revealed that due to his great work experience, UNEB was hiring Ocamringa on contract to serve with them at one of the Centers in Kampala.

Just as the lifeless body of Ocamringa arrived at his ancestral birth place in Arikpa [Uduk village], Abaji parish, Athuma Sub-county, Zombo district, on 3rd October 2025, special eulogies kept pouring in.

Several mourners including, the Bishop of Nebbi Catholic diocese, Rev. Constantine Rupiny, the main celebrant during the burial of Ucamringa on Saturday 4th October 2025, eulogized him as a selfless dedicated worker who served the country with passion as UNEB “O” level examiner official who rose through the ranks by merit.

Among other prominent leaders from greater Nebbi who attended the burial of Ocamringa were, former state minister for energy Eng. Simon Giu D’Ujanga, Catherin Akumu Mavenjina, MP for older persons of Northern Uganda, Zombo Woman MP who doubled as the commissioner of Parliament, Esther Afoyocan, Assistant RDC Zombo district Bruno Mananu, civil servants, cultural leaders among others.

Teddy Ajarova, one of the late Ucamringa’s children in a condolence message to the mourners eulogized her father as a good father, dedicated to work and God fearing man.

Ajarova acknowledged the efforts of Nakasero hospital in the attempts to save the life of her father.

Santa Grace, the wife of the Ocamringa, believes the sickness which took away life of her husband came from God, recalling that he battled the sickness since March 2025.

Santa appealed to bishop Rupiny and commissioner Afoyocan to lead in completing the established primary school and catholic chapel in her community which her husband had started.

Afoyocan recognized the generosity of Ucamringa for supporting her education, saying she has emulated the late by supporting education of a number of needy children in Zombo district to give them second chances.
