Police have arrested 10 students accused of vandalism at Komboni Comprehensive Secondary School in Adjumani District, following a chaotic strike that led to property destruction.

According to North West Nile Regional Police Spokesperson SP Collins Asea, "On the evening of 14th November 2025, at approximately 1900 hours, Adjuman Police Station received information that students of Komboni Comprehensive Secondary School, located within Adjuman Town Council, were on strike and engaged in damaging school property, including breaking the school wall fence."

SP Asea added that a team from the Field Force Unit (FFU) and other officers rushed to the scene to stop the disorder. By the time they arrived, the students had fled, leaving behind damaged offices, a demolished section of the perimeter wall, and a burned school generator. The suspects scattered into nearby villages.

Working with the army, police tracked down and arrested the 10 students suspected of the vandalism, Asea said, adding that the suspects are being held at Adjumani Central Police Station on charges of property destruction, under case reference ADJ CRB.678/2025.

School Head Teacher Yeka George, a 55-year-old Madi tribesman from Mgrere Cell in Central Ward, Adjumani Town Council, linked the incident to a recent crackdown on rule-breaking, that involved confiscation of mobile phones from students violating school rules.

The school is now secured by police and military forces, with the situation calm.

Detectives visited the crime scene, and an investigation is underway to uncover the full motives behind the strike.
