In a thrilling West Nile Regional League clash at King’s Stadium Cana on Sunday, March 8, 2026, Paidha United SC and Lia City FC from Arua City played out a tense goalless draw in their second-leg encounter. 

The match, which kicked off late at 5:00 PM, saw both sides squander multiple scoring opportunities, leaving fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

The dugouts featured a tactical showdown between two coaching heavyweights: Lia City’s Faizol Anini, a former Onduparaka FC legend, and Paidha United’s Edward Rothomio. Both managers orchestrated their squads with precision, but neither could break the deadlock in a game that showcased great determination.

League Standings

As of the last league table update on March 2, 2026, Lia City FC holds a strong third place, while Paidha United SC sits 10th. 

The second round of the league has seen Paidha United kick off with a 2-1 home victory over Kochi Urban FC and a hard-fought draw against Kuluva Rainbow FC last Wednesday. Sunday’s match marked their third game in the second round, with the updated table still pending.

Paidha United’s Squad Overhaul

After a challenging first round, Paidha United made bold moves in the transfer market, bolstering their room with seven new signings to strengthen their campaign.

The incoming players include goalkeepers Mungudit Osman (Alangi Super Mix) and Munguacel Alfred (Padea Rising Stars), attacker Oweknimungu Steven (Bweyale United), winger Owechi David (Padea Rising Stars), and defenders Abiwekango Denis (Padea Rising Stars), Jalgoi Brian (Goli Mission Stars FC), and Mungudit Charles (Alangi Super Mix FC).

The club also parted ways with goalkeeper Ayiko Francis, who joined Kochi Urban FC.Off the pitch, Paidha United welcomed new Public Relations Officer Ofoymungu Lee and Assistant Coach Oyirwoth Dickson, known as “Deco,” a former midfield maestro for Paidha Black Angels, Nebbi Central, and Hot Spring SC. 

These additions aim to fortify the technical team as the season heats up.

Elsewhere in the Big League, Nebbi Central FC suffered a 2-0 defeat on the road against Kiyinda Boys, while Onduparaka FC fell 1-0 to Kataka FC. Paidha Black Angels SC also faced disappointment, losing 2-1 to Catda FC in Kampala.
