His Majesty Isabarongo Mwatansozi Mwogezi Butamanya, the King of Buruuli Kingdom and Chairman of the Uganda Kings and Cultural Leaders Forum, has successfully lobbied for 1,000 full-tuition scholarships to enhance access to quality higher education for Ugandan students, with a particular emphasis on youth from cultural institutions and underserved regions.

In his capacity as Forum Chairperson, Isabarongo coordinated with JAIN University in India to secure these opportunities.

He urged each kingdom to nominate at least 50 eligible students for registration, as communicated in a notification to Prince Lawrence Opar Angala, Prime Minister of the Alur Kingdom.

"As chairperson of Kings Forum, I lobbed for scholarships from INDIA JAIN University . I pray every Kingdom should at least send 50 names of students to be registered" Isabarongo noted in his message to the Alur Kingdom Prime Minister Prince Lawrence Opar Angala.

 Prince Opar Angala welcomed the initiative and encouraged Alur subjects to apply, viewing it as a valuable opportunity for human capital development.

The scholarships form part of the Education for Humanity program, launched in February 2026 under a formal partnership between the U.S based nonprofit We Care for Humanity , organization aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals , including quality education, Gender Equality, No Poverty, and Reduced Inequalities and the Kingdom of Buruuli.

Represented by WCH Founder HRH Maha Putri Mariam Leonor Torres and King Isabarongo, the agreement designates the Kingdom as a strategic educational partner to promote inclusive, equitable lifelong learning and dismantle financial barriers to postsecondary education for marginalized populations.

The 1,000 scholarships cover 100% tuition for the full duration of select online Bachelor's and Master's programs delivered through JAIN Online, in collaboration with USDC Projects India.

These globally recognized, industry-relevant credentials focus on practical skills in business, commerce, and information technology.

 Eligible programs include:

Bachelor's degrees: Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)  

Master's degrees: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), Master of Commerce (M.Com), Master of Arts (MA)

Students are responsible for a modest subsidized administrative fee of $250 per semester ($500 annually) to cover admission and examination costs, paid directly to the university. WCH philanthropically funds tuition, while a small discretionary honorarium supports partnership operations.

The Kingdom of Buruuli will appoint an E4H Coordinator to handle student outreach, administration, and promotion, adhering to guidelines that prohibit any additional fees to beneficiaries.

The non-exclusive partnership allows WCH to engage other entities while prioritizing local recruitment, especially in areas like Nakasongola District.

This initiative builds on WCH's prior success in awarding hundreds of scholarships across Uganda, Kenya, and Ghana via Jain University partnerships. It is expected to advance socioeconomic progress by boosting employability, empowering youth and women, reducing poverty through education, and fostering sustainable human capital development in line with global equity goals.

The program was first highlighted by Isabarongo during the coronation anniversary of His Majesty Ubimu Phillip Rauni Ularker III of Alur last year at Kyambogo University playground in Paidha.

Eligible Ugandan students, particularly from cultural institutions and regions, are encouraged to seek application details through official channels of WCH and the Kingdom of Buruuli. The scholarships remain available until the 1,000 slots are fully allocated.
