Pakwach territorial police are investigating a fatal accident on March 17, 2026, at 9:42am at Pacer village, Panyango sub-county along the Pakwach-Wadelai-Madi Okollo district road.

West Nile Regional Police Spokesperson SSP Josephine Angucia said it involved white Fuso Fighter UBA 351H driven by Opio Tonny, 30, Langi of Jinja camp, Lira city West Division, and green-yellow Fuso UAT 712F driven by Ssebugwawo Denis, 54, Muganda of Subwe, Wakiso district.

Angucia identified the Deceased victims as Adong Eunice, 30, Acholi of Telela West Ogom parish, Ogom Sub-county, Pader district; and Semi Ajok, 42, Langi of Okwor village, Cwagere Kangai Sub-county, Dokolo district.

The crash involved vehicle with registration No UAT 712F headed to Wadelai from Pakwach while livestock-loaded UBA 351H followed.

It's reported that the driver lost control overtaking, overturned and injured two female passengers. One died on arrival at nearby clinic.

Police documented the scene, took victims to Pakwach Health Centre IV and body to mortuary for postmortem.

The Vehicles are parked at Pakwach CPS pending IOV inspection.

West Nile Regional Police Spokesperson Josephine Angucia said Preliminary cause of the accident is reckless driving and Motorists to exercise caution on the road .

This incident adds to Uganda's grim road safety statistics. According to the police annual crime report for 2024, an average of 14 people perish daily in road accidents nationwide, often due to factors such as speeding, poor road conditions, and driver negligence.
