Zombo NRM Women Council Elect leaders Urged To protect Resources

The Sixteen delegate members elected Grace Thorach who doubled as NRM chairperson Zombo district, Chairperson Women Council garning nine votes while her contender Evelyn Othora trailing with seven votes.
The election was conducted by NRM returning officer for Zombo district Prisca Onegiu alongside her vice Chairperson Alfred Okura and Assistant NRM registrar Geoffrey Othuba.
Onegiu implored the new leadership to deciest from mismanaging resources meant for the women, ensure all the resources channelled towards supporting women to remain for them.'
While speaking to the electorate after appealed to them to avoid politics that derail development pledging to work with all women of Zombo district without biases.
Chairpersons women league Kayeny Joyce, encouraged the chairperson elect that she should focus on national leadership.
"Am ready to support you for women conference election." Kayeny observed.
Ms Thorach will be working alongside executives including Rabbeca Acen vice Chairperson, Avur Grace Nyingwa publicity secretary, Watera Cadia secretary for finance.
Evelyn Othora, applauded the delegates for supporting her and pledged to support the candidature of Zombo district for national women council leadership.
She implored new executive to engage in empowering the women to participate in democratic leadership.
The district Women Council election will be held on August 28th 2026, while national election will be conducted on September3rd- 4th 2026.
