‎Zombo district Commences Routine Upgrade of Zombo-Warr Town Council Road

‎Zombo district has commenced routine upgrade of the 11km Zombo-Warr town councils’ road to boost memorability for traders, farmers and learners.

‎Mr. Ngageno observed that the major upgrade includes installation of culverts at key points, drainage system and sectional gravelling.

‎During the launch on Monday August 24th, 2026, residents of Got-Lau Cell, Abira East Ward, Zombo town council expressed excitement saying it would save time for the users, hence improving their livelihood.

‎They say more so movement to Warr Health Centre IV will significantly be easy because some of the road section has been damaged and water logging developed at many points.

‎LC V Chairperson James Uyullu Uruna, Chief Administrative Officer Robert Abanaitwe, MP for Okoro country Hon. Ukumu Gabriel, MP Ora County Hon. Kwiyucwiny Grace Freedom, Woman MP Acamfua Topista, and RDC Festus Ayikubua officiated the launch amidst jubilant community of Got-Lau Cell.

‎In a related development, these leaders commissioned 5.8km Serr-Theraguu road in Abanga Sub-county which is a key alternative road providing access to Padea border custom and Awasi Markert in Jangokoro sub-county.

‎The road is part of 90.5km roads completed in the last financial year (2025/26).

‎These included; Pakadha-Congambe-Atyenda 21km road, Zale-Ayaka-Conguba 19km road, Omua-Alangi 8km road, Acu-Padea 5.4km road, 3.2 km road connecting Ajigu primary school, 5km road within Warr town council, 6km road linking Gamba-Malaba market, 9km road Theruciru-Asina road, Jupumwocu-Ariek 11km road.

‎The chairperson roads committee Hon. Gabriel Ukumu, appealed to motorists to avoid overspending on the roads to curb the high rate of accidents.

‎Meanwhile , Hon. Acamfua Topista rallied residents’ interest themselves to understand road construction works details like length design, bill of quantity [BOQ] and total cost of the road works.

‎She urged farmers to use the good road network to sell avocado, banana, coffee, Irish potatoes among others to move out of poverty.
