Padea, sitting fourth in the standings, locked horns with fifth-placed Paidha United SC in a fiercely contested showdown at King Stadium Cana, Paidha United’s home turf.

The tightly fought clash between these two dynamic Zombo-based Nyagak Regional League outfits saw the hosts, Paidha United, piling on the pressure with a flurry of free kicks and corner kicks.

However, their set-piece onslaught failed to break the deadlock, leaving the scoreboard untouched.

The nail-biting Sunday, April 6 afternoon fixture had Padea Rising Stars’ PRO, Oscar, filling in for absent head coach Chancely Motgan, pacing the touchline and barking orders from the dugout. His restless energy mirrored the intensity on the pitch.

Padea Rising Stars’ shot-stopper Mungacel stood tall between the sticks, thwarting multiple Paidha United raids.

A standout moment came when he punched away a venomous thunderbolt from winger Bright, unleashed from just outside the 18-yard box, keeping the hosts at bay.

The breakthrough arrived when Padea Rising Stars’ talisman, Ramadan Nenungo, ignited the game with a screamer of a volley from outside the box.

The striker’s first-half rocket sailed past Paidha United’s keeper, Hebert Ofoymungu, and nestled into the top right corner, sending the bumper crowd into a frenzy and giving Padea the halftime edge.

Paidha United bounced back in the second half, their midfield maestro Zaza leveling the scoreline with a clinical, low-driven volley that slipped past Mungacel.

The equalizer sparked a renewed fire in the home side’s engine room as they pushed for the lead.

Moments later, a foul on Padea’s star striker Ramadan sparked chaos on the visitors’ bench.

PRO Oscar’s fiery outburst earned him a straight red card, forcing him to watch the remainder of the match from the stands.

Padea’s Ramadan had a golden opportunity to double his tally and clinch the win, but the forward fluffed his lines, squandering a sitter inside the 18-yard box in front of a roaring King Stadium crowd—the biggest turnout of the season.

Paidha United’s frontman Ronie also misfired when it mattered most, failing to convert a chance to put his side ahead.

Shortly after, United’s keeper Herbert Ofoyrwoth pulled off a heroic save, clawing away a looping effort that threatened to hand Padea the victory.

The whistle blew on a well-refereed affair, with both sides settling for a hard-fought 1-1 draw. 

The first leg of this rivalry, played in Padea Town Council last year, had similarly ended in a stalemate with no goals on the board.

Elsewhere in the Big League: Paidha Black Angels FC battled to a gritty point on the road against Mityana’s Ntungasaaze FC after playing had fought 2-2.

Meanwhile, another West Nile outfit Onduparaka FC’s woes deepened, slumping to a 2-1 defeat away to Gadafi FC, piling more pressure on their campaign.
