Pakwach District Local Government has dismissed widespread social media claims of corrupt practices within its District Service Commission.

The statement, issued on April 8, 2025, comes in response to reports that surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) on April 7, alleging that the district has retained an unqualified Assistant District Health Officer for an extended period.

In a press release dated April 8, Pakwach Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Dalili RK Moses, confirmed that the allegations are currently under investigation by the Inspector General of Government (IGG), with a formal report still pending.

“The public should disregard the information circulating on social media platforms as baseless and premature. The Office of the CAO remains open to receiving credible information from the public to enhance service delivery and will decisively address any corrupt practices,” the statement, signed by Dalili RK Moses, read in part.

“It is important to emphasize that the matter in question remains under investigation by the IGG, and no official report has been released,” Dalili added.

He further stated, “The district awaits the IGG’s findings and will implement any recommendations in accordance with due process once the report is available.”

The statement also clarified that the position of Assistant District Health Officer, central to the allegations, remains vacant.

The CAO reaffirmed the district’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and outlined measures to bolster the integrity of the recruitment process, including the hiring of qualified staff with verified credentials.

Between 2020 and 2022, the Inspectorate of Government’s Directorate of Ombudsman Affairs received over 225 complaints nationwide related to irregularities in recruitment processes managed by district service commissions.

The IGG has consistently urged the public to report any instances of bribery or corruption in public service, encouraging vigilance in cases where payments are demanded in exchange for jobs or favors.
