The Uganda Police Force has condemned violent acts by some presidential candidates and their supporters against security officers urging that they should exercise abstinence and promote coexistence during campaign period.

In a press statement, dated 7th November 2025, Police says a number of attacks have been meted on police officers by National Unity Platform [NUP] presidential candidate supporters at various locations across the country.

The statement underscored that these actions include damaging police vehicles, assaulting personnel causing public disorder and the inconsiderate use of public roads.

According to police this violence was recorded in Busia district, whereby suspects NUP traveling in convoy assaulted an officer, case filed at Busia CPS under CRB 1038/2025.

On October 3, 2025, in Mayuge district, an officer was attacked, sustained serious injuries, and had his phone stolen; this incident registered under Mayuge CRB 797/2025.

Other cases were recorded in October 8, at Bikoma Primary School in Kyankwanzi, October 21, in Kisiita Town Council, Kakumiro, October 28, 2025, in Lira City, October 29, in Abim District, on 05 November, 2025 in Kiruhura district and fresh incident was on November 7, 2025, several arrest were in Mbarara district targeting individuals with criminal records.

Police reaffirm that they remain steadfast in their commitment to safeguarding all candidates.
