The parliamentary candidates have kicked-off their campaign rally across the country as the race for general election heats up.

Already several candidates we spoke to expressed enthusiasm to articulate on the common issues affecting their electorate.

In Zombo district, former state minister for Energy, Eng. Simon D’ujanga Giu, has commenced his rally in Uyeyu Parish in the morning while in the afternoon he is in Mundel parish Nyapea sub=county,

Eng. D’ujanga is determined to lobby the government and partners to extend electricity connection to every village with available power in the West Nile region being generated at Nyagak hydro-power dams in Zombo district.

He says on the other hand, he intends to encourage farmers to embrace cooperative Societies and Unions and savings cultures for economic transformation to afford basic needs households.

Ora county MP, Biyika Lawrence Songa who doubles as chairman of climate change in parliament started his rally in Paduba Parish in Kango sub-county promising electorate lobby government and partners to establish small scale irrigation schemes to boost farming during dry periods for income and food security for locals.

Songa adds that he will continue lobbying for pipe water for the population in urban centers, climate resilient infrastructures such roads and bridges to facilitate trade and movement and advocating for environment protection.

The Woman MP for Zombo district Esther Afoyocan, will start her rally after a week later, according to the harmonized campaign schedule.

Sarah Adong took Paidha sub-county in Amei and Cana while Topista Achamfua took over Abanga sub-county in Serr and Asina respectively.

Okoro county incumbent MP Gabriel Ukumu for his part said he will commence his rally on the 5th of December 2025.

Last week Electoral Commission Returning officer Zombo district, Emmanuel Ogwang conducted a harmonization meeting with all the fourteen candidates for MP in Zombo district and resolved on the venue and time for every candidate to minimize clashes over venue.
