A distinguished delegation from the Palara Clan in Warr-Palara Chiefdom, one of the DR Congo's eight chiefdoms under the Alur Kingdom in the Ituri Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), conducted an official visit on Monday, January 26, 2026, to the Alur Kingdom Palace at Kal Atyak Winam in Zombo District, Uganda.

Led by Rwoth Ocoun Anyolitho and coordinated by Hon. Omirambe Maractho, the Ker Alur Minister for DRC Affairs, the group held fruitful discussions with Prince Lawrence Opar Angala, the Prime Minister of Alur Kingdom.

The delegation conveyed special messages and raised key agenda items for His Majesty's consideration, including:Preparations for the anticipated royal visit of Rwoth Ubimu to Warr-Palara Chiefdom, timed to align with the 30th Coronation Anniversary of Rwoth Ogwaro Nyipir III, with the exact date to be finalized and communicated in February 2026.

The pressing imperative to restore and develop sacred cultural sites across Alurland, such as Wanglei, Locjudongu, Nyadwar, Akaa, Rateng, Aminzi, and Okiyu, alongside the reconstruction of burial sites for past kings and royals. This would enable ancestral spirits to offer effective protection and guidance to descendants. 

The visitors specifically requested coordination by Jadipu, for a visit on Thursday, January 29, 2026, to the royal grave of their Clan chief Thombu in Acer Chiefdom, Erussi Subcounty, Uganda, involving relevant authorities and stakeholders.

They also requested for Sustained cross-border collaboration among Alur communities on both sides of the Uganda-DRC frontier to monitor security dynamics, foster cooperation with national governments, and promote enduring peace and development.

Additionally , the delegation also pushed for Urgent revival of key traditional practices that have faded but remain foundational to the legitimacy and potency of Ker Alur authority. These include Thumu Caak (reconciliation rites that heal ancient divisions sealed by Ngulu Caak oaths), proper reverence for Abila (sacred shrines or ancestral altars), and the ceremonial use of royal artifacts and regalia during essential rituals.

The delegation also delivered their Heartfelt congratulations from Alur subjects in the DRC to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Hon. Kwiyucwiny Grace Freedom, and Hon. Akumu Mavenjina on their successes in the recent general elections.

The delegation also called for regular high-level meetings between Ker Alur subjects in the DRC and Uganda to reinforce socio-economic linkages, enhance security cooperation, and drive collective progress.

This engagement builds on last year's coronation anniversary celebrations for Ubimu at Kyambogo University playground in Paidha Town Council, Zombo District, where His Majesty's planned visit to Alur communities in the DRC was publicly announced.

Warr-Palara Chiefdom , also known as War-Palara is one of the chiefdoms that make up the Alur Kingdom in Ituri Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo . The kingdom spans both the DRC and Uganda, with eight chiefdoms in the DRC and a larger number (historically around 56) in Uganda.

The DRC chiefdoms include Warr-Palara, along with others such as Ang'al (or Anghal/Angal), Mukambu (or Mukambo), Djukoth (or Jukoth), Panduru, and Alur Djuganda (also known as Juganda or Djuganda), among additional ones in historical references.

All these chiefdoms pay allegiance to the Ubimu of Alur, His Royal Majesty Phillip Olarker Rauni III. He reigns from his palace at Kaal Atyak Wi-Nam in Zombo District, Uganda, as the spearhead (Leb Tong) of the Nyipir lineage in the Luo/Alur royal dynasty.

This historic visit is aimed at strengthening the cultural fabric of the Alur people, who share a common heritage, language, and royal lineage despite colonial-era borders.
