The Aringa Kingdom has announced with deep sorrow the untimely demise of one of its illustrious sons, Mr. Eric Yassin Angua.

The late Eric Yassin Angua, until his passing, served as a dedicated staff member in the Department of Production at Yumbe District Local Government. 

He was also the Secretary of the Aringa Fruit Farmers Cooperative Society, where he worked tirelessly for the welfare of fruit farmers across the Kingdom.

According to the Prime Minister of Aringa Kingdom, Rt. Hon. Fadhil Lemeriga, the deceased succumbed to a short illness shortly after watching the first half of the UEFA Champions League encounter between Arsenal and Atlético Madrid on Wednesday April 29. He was immediately rushed to hospital for medical attention but sadly passed on despite efforts to save him.

In a statement, the Prime Minister Lemeriga described the death of Mr. Eric Yassin Angua as “a great loss, not only to Yumbe District Local Government but to the entire West Nile sub-region.”

"As a loyal subject, he was responsible for identifying sources of funding for the kingdom and had successfully identified UNESCO as a viable organization with which the kingdom could partner" Lemeriga recounted.

This painful loss comes just weeks after the Kingdom bid farewell to another revered figure, the Chief Historian, Jabiri Juruga, a highly respected custodian of Aringa history and culture.

According to the Kingdom, burial and funeral arrangements for the late Eric Yassin Angua will be communicated to the public in due course.

May the Almighty grant his soul eternal rest, and grant the family, the Kingdom, and the entire West Nile region the strength to bear this heavy loss.
