Zombo District Leaders Urged To Prioritize Public good Over Personal Vendatta

The Chief Magistrate; Nebbi Magisterial Area SSennoga Mawano Cyrus, has urged the newly elected political leaders of Zombo district to Prioritized public good over personal interest.
The Chief Magistrate Ssegonna made the statement while administering oath of allegiance and oath of secrecy during the swearing in ceremony on May 18th 2026 at the Zombo district community Hall.
"Prioritize public good over your personal interest to achieving social interest between you and public faithfully," adding that they (leaders) should legitimize power and paying allegiance to defend the constitution.
The chief administrative officer Robert Abenaitwe implored the councillors that, "when conducting council, Local Government Rules of procedures will be the only instrument of power as they conduct council business."
Speaking shortly after he was sworn in and receiving instruments of power, the LC V chairperson James Uyullu Uruna acknowledged that all the efforts for social economic transformation are championed by President Yoweri Museveni Kaguta.
"we are seeing at least somethings development are coming up for Zombo district" Uyullu remarked promising to serve deligently for service better delivery for people of Zombo district.
The Zombo resident district commissioner (RDC) Festus Ayikubua told the councillors that this term is a term no sleep and no corruption." According to president Museveni.
He appealed to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to ensure councillors are provided necessary support to supervise government programme.
MP Okoro county, Gabriel Ukumu rechoed on president stand against corruption, rallying the councillors to mobilize the community to use available land to boost both commercial and subsistence production.
LC V chairperson James Uyullu Uruna formed his cabinet as follows:
Speaker Cekecan Bob, the councilor representing Alangi Sub-county deputize by Jacinta Achen, councilor representing Jangokoro and Padea town council.
Vice chairperson: Ringtho Hassan councilor representing Paidha Sub-county.
Secretary works, production and technical services: Patrick Kumakech Padea town council.
Secretary finance, planning and administration Grace Awekonimungu councilor representing Warr Sub-county.
Secretary social and community based services Denis Nimungu, Zeu Sub-county.
The vice Chairperson Ringtho welcomed his appointment believing in team work for service delivery for the locals.
The new leadership come in when bevy of demands from electorates is sky-high, ranging from the ever-deplorable state of the 119 km of Nebbi -Paidha- Zombo - Zeu- Vurra road, to absence of a district Hospital and other essential services for these predominantly agrarian community.
Beatrice Ubima, councilor representing Paidha town council, encouraged the perants to prioritize girl child education, appealed for construction of lock-ups in Paidha market.
