State Minister for Defence and Veterans Affairs, Hon. Dr. Huda Abason Olero, has cautioned district officials against the mismanagement of government projects and urged political leaders from the West Nile region to work hand in hand for the benefit of the people.

Speaking during a district committee meeting in Yumbe District, the minister specifically warned parish chiefs and other district officials against the misuse or mismanagement of government projects at the local level.

She emphasized that proper implementation of these projects is essential to deliver tangible benefits to communities, including improved infrastructure, enhanced service delivery, job creation, and accelerated socio-economic development that uplifts ordinary citizens.

Hon. Olero called upon political leaders from the West Nile region to collaborate closely with one another in the interest of the people of the region.

Such unity, she noted, would help ensure government programmes are effectively executed and that development reaches all corners.

The minister thanked the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, for fulfilling his promise through the construction of the Koboko–Yumbe–Moyo road. 

She further commended President Museveni and the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, for their transformative service to the people of Uganda and their determined fight against graft.

The minister’s remarks come against the backdrop of the government’s ongoing efforts to combat corruption, ensuring public resources are used efficiently so that well-implemented projects continue to improve livelihoods and foster sustainable progress across the country.
