In a tale of contrasting fortunes for Paidha's football faithful on Sunday, Paidha Black Angels SC powered to a vital home win in the FUFA Big League, while Paidha United SC suffered a narrow defeat in the West Nile Regional League.

At Bar Okoro Stadium in Paidha Town Council, Zombo District, the Black Angels claimed all three points in a hard-fought clash against Iganga United.

Midfielder David Obedmoth, known as Dante, delivered the blow with a clinical first-half finish that sealed a 1-0 victory in front of thousands of passionate supporters.

The goal injected fresh momentum into Paidha Black Angels' promotion push, keeping them firmly in the race for the top spot and a push ticket to the Uganda Premier League next season.

Meanwhile, over 80 kilometers away in Terego District, Paidha United SC endured a tough afternoon at the well-manicured Leju Stadium, falling 2-1 to second-placed Odramacaku FC in a rain-kissed West Nile Regional League encounter. 

A cool drizzle set the scene as hundreds of fans watched the hosts dominate the opening period.

Odramacaku struck first from a dangerous corner kick, with Okuni Ramadhan tapping home to open the scoring. 

They doubled their lead through winger Oj , capitalizing on a defensive lapse in the Paidha United backline. 

Despite the slick pitch forcing cautious play early on, the home side's clinical finishing proved decisive.

Paidha United fought back in the second half, with striker Rony heading home a consolation from a right-back cross to pull one back and spark hope.

Substitutions injected energy into Paidha united Coach Rwothomio Eddy's side, who dominated large spells after the break and created chances, but couldn't find an equalizer.

Earlier misses, including a straight shot at the keeper from Ronie and a wayward effort from midfielder Zaza, proved no results.

The defeat comes as a setback for Paidha United, who will in the coming days miss the services of star defender Pogba due to injury. 

The visitors had started the second leg solidly with a 2-1 home win over Kochi Urban FC, a draw against Kuluva Rainbow FC, and a goalless stalemate against Lia City FC last week.

While the Black Angels celebrated a crucial three points to bolster their Big League title challenge, Paidha United will look to regroup and fill the void left by key absences as the regional campaign heats up in matchday 4 of the second leg.

The regional league match between Paidha united SC and Odramacaku FC also marked a special farewell for outgoing center referee Angufindru Francis, who officiated his final game after nearly 17 years in the whistle-blowing business.
