Zombo Muslim District celebrated Eid ul-Fitr with heightened joy and gratitude to Allah as SP Fred Bogere , an officer in charge Paidha Central Police Station, publicly declared his conversion to Islam.

SP Bogere of Paidha Central Police Station formally entered the fold of Islam, reciting the Shahada and committing himself fully to the straight path. 

This blessed event unfolded during Eid prayers at Salama Mosque in Paidha Town Council, igniting celebrations among hundreds of faithful brothers and sisters who witnessed Allah's mercy manifest in their midst.

Abdul Aziz Kasim Amin, the District Qadi of Zombo Muslim District, extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to the new Muslim during the prayers, declaring: “You are at the right place; feel at home, our police officer.”

Hassan Ringtho, the Speaker of Zombo District Council and a prominent figure in the local Muslim community, warmly greeted the convert and mobilized the Ummah to provide sadaqah and material support, including financial contributions and essential items, to ease his transition and strengthen his new journey in Faith.

Adorned in a complete kanzu and traditional Muslim attire, the OC was officially welcomed and seated honorably beside senior Muslim leaders, symbolizing his full acceptance into the brotherhood of Islam.

In a moving address to the congregation, OC Bogere shared: “I have been practicing as a Muslim by default. Today, I wanted to formally join Islam because I have seen hope in it.”

He reaffirmed his steadfast commitment, pledging: “I am committed to following the Islamic teachings and doctrines forever.”

This joyous occasion marked the grand inaugural Eid ul-Fitr celebration for Zombo Muslim District since its establishment as a distinct entity in December last year , having been carved out from Nebbi Muslim District by the grace of Allah.

All prominent Muslim leaders joined in the Eid prayers at Salama Mosque, turning the day into a powerful display of unity, faith, and hope for the growing Ummah in Zombo.

The Resident District Commissioner of Zombo, Festus Ayikobua, addressed the gathering, urging the Muslim faithful to actively engage in government social transformation programs designed to lift communities from poverty and promote holistic well-being in line with Islamic values of justice, compassion, and self-reliance.
