The Zombo based West Nile Regional league outfit Paidha United SC claimed a crucial 2-0 home victory over Okokoro United FC in a hard-fought West Nile Regional League encounter on Saturday at King's Stadium, Cana, in Paidha Town Council.

Striker Ronie opened the scoring just two minutes into the match, firing into the right corner after a precise setup from midfielder Pogba.

The home side dominated the early exchanges in a physical, high-tempo first half that ended 1-0.

Okokoro United suffered an early setback when their first-choice goalkeeper sustained a knee injury and limped through the half before being substituted at the break.

Tensions escalated when the visitors' head coach received a red card for unlawfully entering the pitch, forcing him to watch from outside the dugout.

Paidha United doubled their lead in the second half through midfielder Zaza, whose looping header was initially cleared by an Okokoro defender but awarded as a goal by the referee after crossing the line.

The hosts missed further chances, including a free kick that struck the woodwork and a volley from Ronie that sailed over the bar.

Okokoro hit the woodwork late but failed to find a breakthrough.

Paidha United SC's Public Relations Officer, Lee Ofoymungu, hailed the win as a "significant boost" following their last week 2-1 away loss to Odramacaku FC in Terego district.

The result lifts the hosts, who entered the match in solid second-leg form with a mix of wins, draws, and that defeat.

Okokoro United FC's PRO, Erick Happy, attributed the defeat to player fatigue and the absence of five key first-team players who have joined clubs in the DR Congo league.

The Maracha-based side, which has now lost four games and drawn one in their last four matches , sits in 7th place with 19 points pending updates, while Paidha United occupies 9th.

In related news, Paidha Black Angels SC , currently 3rd in the FUFA Big League , will host a key preparatory friendly on Sunday against Bisengo FC from Mahagi, DR Congo, at Barokoro Stadium.

Club PRO Francis Thomas Otwikende confirmed the match as vital preparation for their upcoming away league fixture against Ntungasaaze FC in Wakiso District.

The coaching staff Paidha united SC made tactical adjustments ahead of today's crucial WNRL match against Okokoro United FC. After careful consideration, two changes have been made to the starting lineup: Francis Oyirwoth (Aldiere) and Francis Uweknimungu start today, having been on the bench last week against Odramacaku FC.

Meanwhile, Isa Ekinora (Zaza) and Edmond Otingcwinyu, who started in the previous match, have been dropped to the bench. Senior defender Oyeny Innocent returns after a prolonged absence and started on the bench.
