Muslim faithfuls commemorate late Sheikh AbdulHamid Kaggwa Rijji at Salama Mosque in Paidha

Hundreds of Muslim faithfuls gathered at Salama Mosque, Mvugu Lower, Paidha Town Council in Zombo District to commemorate and pray for the spirit of Morhom Sheikh AbdulHamid Kaggwa Abdu Rijji.
Speaking during the Duwa prayers, Zombo Muslim District Khadi Sheikh Abdul Aziz Kassim Amin eulogized the late Sheikh AbdulHamid as an outstanding champion of conflict resolution within the Muslim brotherhood.
Sheikh Abdul Aziz encouraged mourners to emulate the late Sheikh’s character of peaceful resolution and the use of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms instead of taking the law into their own hands, which he said could lead to negative repercussions.
He described Sheikh AbdulHamid as an educationist who endeavored to overcome challenges and bottlenecks in education by providing boarding facilities for children from as far as neighboring Congo and Parombo.
Delegates from Arua Muslim District, led by Sheikh Abdul Jaffer, disclosed the development of an Islamic institute that will provide adult education to the Muslim brotherhood.
The institute, which will operate from Friday to Sunday in Arua City, is intended to build a strong foundation for faith, refine daily character through moral principles (Akhlaq), and provide practical guidance for daily decisions.
Sheikh Abdul Aziz noted the late Sheikh AbdulHamid’s tremendous selfless efforts in encouraging more Muslims to pursue Islamic studies in order to strengthen their faith, improve moral character, and gain guidance in their daily lives.
Morhom Sheikh AbdulHamid Kaggwa Rijji was a pivotal figure in the establishment of Zombo Muslim District, a founding member of Mvugu Lower Primary School and Al-Qanaya Islamic School.
He also served as former LCI of Abongo Cell, retired councillor in Paidha Catholic Council, and former NRM Zombo District registrar, among other roles.
